Everyone loves this recipe! I can make it spicier for those that prefer it that way and not as spicy for people like me. I also omit the bacon when I'm mailing it to my husband on deployment so it ships well. I always make a HUGE batch when I mail it and it gets eaten really quickly on the ship.I also made it for my christmas gifts this year.

We LOVE this recipe. I've made a few changes, and use walnuts or peanuts, use a packet of Oscar Mayer bacon chips, have used maple syrup on occasion, 1 Tablespoon of Mrs. Dash's Southwestern Chipolte Shake and 3 T. of bourbon.

To enhance this recipe; I used mixed nuts, used a few ounces less of the Chex mix & substituted bugles and used 1 tsp of chilpotle chile powder. The extra chile powder gave a mild kick to the mix but not too spicy.

This was a FANTASTIC snack mix that was a big hit at my Father's Day dinner - I plan on making this at the holidays and packaging up in small gift bags this year! The bourbon flavor was not overpowering. There was still plenty of the sweet glaze even doubling the pecans and using a bit more of the chex mix than the recipe called for.

Since my husband loves bacon, I thought this would make a nice Fathers' Day treat. It's probably not going to last that long. The flavor is wonderful and it was easy to prepare!
