lb. lean ground turkey

teaspoon fennel seed, crushed

teaspoon anise seed, crushed

garlic cloves, minced

(14.5-oz.) cans no-salt-added stewed tomatoes, undrained

(8-oz.) can no-salt-added tomato sauce

cups water

teaspoon dried basil leaves

teaspoon dried oregano leaves

cup uncooked orzo or rosamarina (rice-shaped pasta)

Directions

  1. 1 Spray nonstick Dutch oven or large saucepan with nonstick cooking spray. Add turkey, fennel seed, anise seed and garlic; cook over medium-high heat until turkey is no longer pink.
  2. 2 Add all remaining ingredients except orzo; mix well. Bring to a boil. Add orzo; return to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and cook 12 minutes or until orzo is tender.
