Evidently, you all have never made French Toast!!!! Basically, that is all this really is: cheesy French Toast.

This look yummy! I'm not confused but I agree the author could add a few more words for better directions on the dipping. I haven't tried this yet but want to. I've never tried cheese sauce from a can, so I will probably buy a few different brands to try out & find a favorite. The directions remind me of French Toast, but with cheese sauce instead of milk. So I'm thinking, I'm going to dip the whole slice and brown on both sides for all the slices (like French Toast), then add sliced cheese & bake in my toaster oven until cheese is melted. I will probably leave the outside sides less bro

I wish that it was explained better, I am so confused about this recipe. I always read the reviews FIRST before I try something new. It sounds like you dip Both sides of the bread. If you do that it would be a mess.

Check out Michael Simons receipe on The Chew. Saw him make it on the store and it looked yummy. That is the one I will be making

This looks really good. There are two ways this could be cooked. Dip one side of the bread and put it in the skillet dip side down and put the cheese on it. Dip one side of the top bread and put it on the sandwich and then grill the whole sandwich as you normally would. Or if you dip both sides, I don't see how the egg mixture on the inside would cook -- the cheese would melt but the egg mixture would be uncooked and gooey with the cheese. I don't like raw eggs in any way. So if you dip both sides, put two pieces of bread in the skillet and brown them on one side. Flip one piece over and

You dip the entire pieces of bread into the mixture - it just states to do them one at a time (which is logical) and letting the excess sauce drip before putting in pan - hope this helps.....

I am confused as well... only dip one side of bread??? Seems as though you would dip both. Hmmm

Dip both slices of bread. I would have thought sliced cheese would be less messy than shredded for the inside. Did I miss something?

This recipes sounds so delicious. However, I'm a little confused. I noticed they state that the bottom slices of bread are supposed to be dipped in the mixture but are the top slices supposed to be dipped also?

For those looking for the cheese sauce; Campbell's also has a cheese sauce that you can usually find with the condensed soups such as cream of chicken, celery, mushroom, etc.
