My family has been making this recipe for over 40 years, and it is still my favorite. Yes it may not be the sweetest but it is rich and delicious. I think the poor review come for poor baking.

I, too, have made this for many years in the past. Just kind of forgot it and was glad to see it in print once again. It's going to be dessert tonight. Thanks for the wonderful reminder of this great dessert!

I've also used this recipe for years. My children loved to make it themselves because it looks so bad going in the oven but so good coming back out. A little bit of magic!

I'm 68 y/o and my mother made this dessert for us when I was in high school. It is delicious! Can't understand the reviews of "watery & not enough cocoa" unless you aren't using a quality brand of cocoa & are not following the recipe. When I bake, I won't use generic to save money - I won't ruin a reputation of being a good baker to save money.

This is a fabulously fudgy chocolately easy dessert to make! Serve it warm from the oven whith whipped or ice cream. Ummm yummmy!!!

Thought this would be a great cake. Was I fooled. The pudding mix had too much water - not enough cocoa. It did not taste good at all. Very disappointed.

I was very disappointed in this recipe. The pudding was very bland and had very little taste. Too much water, and needed more cocoa. Not good at all.
