Homemade Chewy Granola Bars

Ingredients

cup firmly packed brown sugar

cup peanut butter

cup light corn syrup
1/2
cup margarine or butter, melted

teaspoons vanilla

cups quick-cooking rolled oats

cup coconut
1/2
cup shelled sunflower seeds
1/2
cup raisins
1/3
cup wheat germ

tablespoons sesame seed

(6-oz.) pkg. (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips or carob chips, if desired

Directions

  1. 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch pan. In large bowl, combine brown sugar, peanut butter, corn syrup, margarine and vanilla; blend well. Add all remaining ingredients; mix well. Press evenly in greased pan.
  2. 2 Bake at 350°F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. Cut into bars.
