BASTING BUTTER

cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2
teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/2
teaspoon dried sage leaves
1/4
teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed
1/8
teaspoon garlic powder

CHICKEN

to 3 1/2 lb. cut-up or quartered frying chicken, skin removed, if desired

Directions

  1. 1 Grill Directions: Heat grill. In small bowl, combine all basting butter ingredients; mix well.
  2. 2 When ready to grill, place chicken, skin side down, on gas grill over low heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 45 to 60 minutes, or until chicken is fork-tender and juices run clear, turning once and brushing frequently with basting butter. Discard any remaining butter.
