Ingredients

lb. boneless beef round steak, trimmed of fat, cut into 1 1/4x1-inch pieces

lb. small red potatoes, cut into 1/4-inch slices (4 cups)

medium stalks celery, chopped (1 cup)

medium carrots, chopped (1 cup)

cup chopped onion

garlic cloves, minced

tablespoon beef-flavor instant bouillon

teaspoon salt

teaspoon pepper

(14-oz.) cans beef broth

(6-oz.) jar sliced mushrooms, undrained

cup water

cup all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. 1 In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, combine all ingredients except water and flour; mix well.
  2. 2 Cover; cook on low setting for 8 to 9 hours.
  3. 3 About 35 minutes before serving, blend water and flour until smooth. Gradually stir into soup. Increase heat setting to high; cover and cook an additional 30 minutes or until slightly thickened.
