Ham Steak with Maple Apples

Ingredients

cooked center-cut ham slice (1 lb)

large or 2 medium red cooking apples, unpeeled, thinly sliced
1/2
cup maple-flavored syrup

tablespoons chopped fresh chives, if desired

Directions

  1. 1 Heat 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place ham in skillet; cook until browned. Turn ham. Add apples and syrup; stir gently and arrange over and around ham.
  2. 2 Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer 8 to 12 minutes or until apple slices are tender, stirring apple mixture once or twice. Sprinkle with chives.
