Dinner ready in 20 minutes! Try traditional ham with a twist of apple.

1
cooked center-cut ham slice (1 lb)
1
large or 2 medium red cooking apples, unpeeled, thinly sliced
1/2
cup maple-flavored syrup

  • 2 Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer 8 to 12 minutes or until apple slices are tender, stirring apple mixture once or twice. Sprinkle with chives.

Expert Tips

This salty-sweet entree makes a fine, quick supper and is also delicious as part of a brunch buffet. Leftovers, layered on a kaiser roll or between slices of rye bread, make a pleasant alternative to the usual ham sandwich.
