Expert Tips

Love making s’mores? Then you’ll love this cookie pizza! It’s perfect for camping or a backyard barbecue. After grilling your dinner, leave the grill on to make dessert.

To keep dough from sticking, roll between 2 sheets of cooking parchment paper.

To have a perfectly round pizza, after rolling the dough, use a 9-inch cake pan turned upside down as a “cookie cutter.” Place the trimmings on top of the dough and roll again.

I made an adapted version of this in the oven last night. Pressed/rolled the cookie dough into a circle and put it on a cookie sheet. Had to bake the cookie for much longer than directions said. Then took it out and added the crumbled graham crackers, the marshmallows, and chocolate chips instead of broken chocolate bars. Then put back in oven on low broil to toast the marshmallows. It was great! The only downside is the very center of the cookie was still a soft-baked texture and the edges were crispy... and the edges were the best! Next time I'll make individual sized mini cookie pizzas so t

It looks great, sounds yummy. Some of us tho do not have, or are not allowed to have, a grill because of community restrictions or other reasons, so the oven is our only choice. Should be easy enough to adapt to oven baking, with maybe 30 seconds under the broiler if needed to brown up and melt the chocolate and marshmallows.

Ladies, I think you are all missing the point here! It might be just as easy to make this in the oven, but why heat up the house by using the oven. If you are going to fire up the grill, why not make something yummy for desert too. I think this is better than s'mors and not as messy and you don't even have to wash plates!!!

I haven't tried it yet, but hubby is going to grill it tonight. I appreciate that everyone wants to bake it and I understand the reasoning, but when it's 100 degrees out I don't want to heat up my house anymore than I have to PLUS there is the added bonus that when it's grilled I don't do much of the work. Although with company, even when you do all the prep work, your hubby gets ALL the credit. I'll let you know how it turns out, but I'm going to follow the directions exactly so I don't have to go out in the heat!

We had the greatest fun eating this girdlebusting desert. Baked the cookie in the oven, than grilled for two minutes with marshmallows/chocolate chips/cookie crumbs. Two spoons, some icecream and whipped cream to go with it and the evening was a succes!
