Greek Artichoke Spinach and Olive Appetizers

tubes Pillsbury Crescent rolls, each 8 ounces
8
ounces spinach and artichoke cream cheese spread
2
tablespoons kalamata olives
4
tablespoons marinated artichoke hearts
2
tablespoons freshly grated parmesean cheese, divided

  • 1 Open up each tube of crescent rolls, make into 2 rectangles, and close performations shut.
  • 2 In a food processor, whirl the olives and artichoke hearts twice.
  • 3 In a bowl with an electric mixer combine the cream cheese, and the olive mixture.
  • 4 Spread half the cream cheese mixture on each crescent roll rectangle.
  • 5 Sprinkle half the parmesean cheese on each filled crescent roll sheet.
  • 6 Fold each crescent sheet in half lengthwise, and seal around the edges.
  • 7 Slice each sheet into 18 strips crosswise.
  • 8 Take each strip and hold both ends and twist.
  • 9 Bake in a pre heated 375° until golden, maybe 18 to 20 minutes

I made these for the first time last night and my guests couldn't get enough! I will definitely put these on my Christmas Eve table. I didn't add anything but can see endless possibilities. Very, very good.

The spinach is in the purchased cream cheese. This is so tasty. I added some finely chopped green onion to the cream cheese mixture. A finely chopped shallot would work as well (just a very mild onion addition). Easy and impressive appetizer!
