Strawberry short cake or just plain strawberries are good any way you fix them & at any time. For breakfast, we like to take a buttered Grand (or any Pillsbury biscuits)& eat it with a bowl of strawberries. My husband introduced me to eating strawberries this way when we got married many years ago. It does make good eating.

I recently had a class of special needs junior high students make this recipe, as my regular Foods classes make strawberry shortcake by making the biscuits from scratch. These students wanted to make strawberry shortcake, too. I also had time constraints with them, as their class is not as long as the high school. I was unable to locate the "Grands" biscuits, so we used the regular buttermilk ones. I had them brush the sides & top of each biscuit with melted butter, then roll those areas in cinnamon sugar on a small plate. While they baked, the students sliced fresh strawberries and they whipped their whipping cream. These turned out fabulously! The kids loved them & really felt successful. Thank you, Pillsbury, for this great idea. I often use your recipe ideas in classes - the kids are able to make these recipes in the allotted time-frame and they are able to easily duplicate the recipes at home!

This recipe was a fun, yummy recipe!! I brought it to a ladies'' "dessert & drinks" party and it was a hit! To prevent the bottom from becoming too soggy, I would suggest really draining the strawberry mixture before applying and slicing the cooked biscuits with more on the bottom to absorb some of the juices.
