I made these and they were great. I used a very, very small biscuit cutter for the center and cooked the doughnut holes. Instead of icing I dipped one side of the donuts in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon which looked nice and tasted good.

I used to make these for my children, now I make them for my grandchildren and they love them! I form the hole in the middle w/ my fingers or I make bowties by pulling the biscuit on both sides and twisting in the middle then pinching where it was twisted to stay that way. Then fry .

Make them using the Honey flaked biscuits. Even more like a doughnut. I let mine sit and rise a little before frying. 350 should not be too hot to cook them in but if you had trouble, back the temp down to 325. Always cook a trial one first. Great with chocolate frosting also.

I heated my oil to 350 and they all BURNED. When I finally got it cooled down, I had 2 doughnuts. This recipe just ticked me off.

My grandchildren love making these doughnuts. I fry them and we make a mess in the kitchen icing and decorating them. My grandchildren have said and I quote " These doughnuts are better then Dunkin' Donuts.

I remember making this recipe when I was a kid. I would cut the middle out with a coke lid and use that dough to make the doughnut holes. I would make some with this glaze or just top with powdered sugar. Awesome recipe. My son will love it too. This recipe brought back alot of memories.

These are delicious! No need to cut a hole in the middle. Just take your fingers and split the middle of the biscuit a little, and make your own hole. These are best when you eat them hot/warm.

Have made this type of doughnut for at least 40 years now, using the blue can of refrigerated buttermilk biscuits. Don't cut a hole in the middle. Leave whole, squirt a little jelly or other filling inside and frost the top. Instant delicious jelly doughnuts "bismarcks."
