Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Divide cookie dough into 12 equal pieces. With floured fingers, wrap 1 piece of dough around each peanut butter cup, shaping into ball. On ungreased cookie sheet, place 6 dough balls, arranging evenly apart. Refrigerate remaining 6 balls until ready to bake.
  • 2 Bake 11 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Bake remaining balls of dough.
  • 3 In small saucepan, melt chocolate chips and shortening over low heat, stirring constantly. Drizzle melted chocolate in crisscross pattern over cooled cookies. Let stand until glaze is set before storing.

use regular coating chocolate or use chocolate bars as another suggested, I always melt in microwave on the defrost or level 3.

I have made these for years using mini Snickers bars, drizzle with chocolate and sift powdered sugar. At Christmas time I call them "Santa Surprises" If I cut them cut the dough just right I can get 3 dozen out of each tube of cookie dough. I'll have to try with the p-nut butter cup

I've made something similar to these for years. I called them UFO's, made choc chip cookie recipe with no choc chips, but this is way easier and then reeses inside, then I frost with Pillsbury milk choc icing and sprinkle chopped peanuts on top.

I made these for a church get together and they were a huge hit! They were super good and very easy to make. I've made them since then and will definately make them again!
