I often use soured milk when buttermilk is not on hand, and perhaps it would work for this recipe. Generally I use 1 to 2 Tablespoons of vinegar per 1 cup of milk. Great reviews on this recipe, so I plan to make the waffles soon.

Great recipe. Moist and delicious. Very filling. I doubled the recipe and added one cup fresh bluberries. I also used whole rolled oats. I didn't have the quick ones. My husband and 5 year old loved it. Definately a keeper.

This is the only waffle mix I make for my family. The only thing I specially buy is buttermilk I don''t have that on hand all the time. My family loves this recipe and I add fruit inside the waffle. It''s very good.

I love this recipe it''s easy and tastes great with my Belgian waffle maker! It''s a fast easy recipe that is good for you. I don''t always have buttermilk on hand so I have to make a big note to remember to buy it. It also refrigerates well for the next morning.
