EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Trifle, which probably came about as a way for the British to use up leftover cake by mixing it with custard, is less exact than many other recipes. As long as you measure the milk for the pudding mix, a little more or a little less of the ingredients specified won´t matter.

* Sprinkle fruits that darken, such as bananas, nectarines and peaches, with lemon juice before assembling trifle.
