Expert Tips

If you don't have the 14-oz. cans of broth on hand, you can use three 10 1/2-oz. cans of condensed beef broth with 2 1/2 soup cans of water. Or add 7 cups water with 7 beef-flavor bouillon cubes or 2 heaping tablespoons of beef-flavor instant bouillon.

Very good and easy recipe for French Onion Soup. Sometimes, I caramelize the onions in a skillet with butter before adding to the slow cooker instead of cooking directly in the slow cooker. I also substitute croutons if I don't have french bread on hand. Recipe is flavorful and leftovers freeze great for a quick meal another night!
