Decorate these easy cookies however you want, make it a fun family activity.

package (16 oz) Pillsbury™ Ready to Bake!™ refrigerated sugar cookies
1 1/2
cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1/4
cup each of your favorite toppings (slivered or chopped nuts of any kind, mini marshmallows, toffee bits, mini candies, peanut butter chips, sprinkles, cherries, and coconut, work very well) For a variety pick 7 or 8 toppings to mix and match

Steps

  • 1 Bake cookies according to directions on the package and let cool.
  • 2 Melt chocolate in microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals stirring in-between until chocolate is smooth. (Approximately 2- 3 minutes total)
  • 3 Spoon approximately 1 heaping teaspoon of chocolate onto the top of a cookie. Decorate with your favorite toppings. Repeat until all the cookies are topped.
  • 1 Bake cookies according to directions on the package and let cool.
  • 2 Melt chocolate in microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals stirring in-between until chocolate is smooth. (Approximately 2- 3 minutes total)

Some of the toppings and combinations that work well are: 1.Chopped pecans and walnuts 2.Toffee Bits 3.Toffee Bits and Coconut 4.Mini Marshmallows and Chopped Pecans 5.Peanut Butter Chips 6.Chopped Maraschino Cherries 7.Slivered Almonds

1/2 teaspoon of vegetable shortening added to the chocolate chips when melting them, can help give a smooth consistency to the chocolate that makes it easier to work with.
