I feel the green color of this pie is not important at all. The flavor is scrumptious. So what if Floridians do not make Green Key Lime Pie? I have eaten Florida's Key Lime Pie In Miami and it was green and was not as delicious as this wonderful recipe....To me whether the limes used were not key limes the taste was still DELICIOUS....

well my pie filling turned out great, deliciously tasted like lime. but i could have cooked the crust just a tad bit longer, i should be proud. But just a little disappointed.it's ok I can always try again until it's just perfectly right. other then that great recipe!

Heaven! My family is still talking about how yummy & refreshing this pie is. "Are you going to make that lime pie again has become a constant request around here. So easy to make and has great presentation!

The name should be just Lime Pie, since you are not using Key limes, but other then that, the recipe is pretty good. I used lemon flavoring and lemon peel and made a second one as a lemon pie.

My mother made a pie similar to this when I was growing up. But she used lime Jello in place of the unflavored gelatin, sugar, lime juice & water. She just made the jello according to the pkg directions. She also mixed in a brick of softened cream cheese to the hot jello mixture. After that cooled a bit, she mixed in the whipped topping. Super easy and very much like this recipe - but with a quick short cut and a yummy addition! (hers didn't have eggs in it either).

The flavor was ok. I had a difficult time mixing the ingrediants together and having it blend properly. I love key lime pie, but was very disappointed overall with this recipe.
