Egg Bake

This recipe is one that you can prepare the day before and just throw it in the oven the next morning about 1 1/2 hours before you are ready to eat it.

small onion, finely chopped

slices white bread, crust removed

ounces(2 cups) shredded cheddar cheese

eggs

cups milk

tsp dry mustard
salt and pepper

oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2
soup can of milk

  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, cook sausage and ground beef with onion until meat is brown and onion tender.
  • 2 Drain
  • 3 Butter bottom and siders of 9x13x2 inch glass baking dish
  • 4 Line the bottom with the 8 slices of bread.
  • 5 Layer meat and cheese mixture over bread, beginning with meat, and ending with cheese, until all used up.
  • 6 In large bowl, combine eggs, 1 1/2 cups milk, dry mustard, salt, pepper;
  • 7 Pour over layer in baking dish
  • 8 Cover
  • 9 Refrigerate overnight
  • 10 Ready to bake-
  • 11 Heat oven to 300 degrees
  • 12 In small bowl, combine soup and 1/2 can of milk;
  • 13 Pour over layers
  • 14 Bake for 1 1/2 hours
