I add 8 oz of Velvetta to the soup and green beans.. it's a wonderful side dish that my whole family loves.

I make this casserole with a few changes and it always turns out awesome. Starting with the green beans you can use the can french style or 1 quart of home canned which is what I use. Also instead of the onions I use a thin layer of shredded mild cheddar cheese topping it with a layer of Chow Mein Noodles. Everyone loves my casserole made my way.

I use Campbell's Golden Mushroon Soup. A deeper color. A richer taste, if you can believe that!

I add fresh parmesan, black pepper, mix some of the onions and just a touch of bacon drippings in the body of the casserole and a hint of nutmeg. I also change up the soup to keep it fresh.

FranJ10, make sure you drain the beans really well. Also, add in half of the onions before you bake it. That will help absorb some of the liquid. Hope that helps!

Add a few teaspoons of soy sauce and some garlic powder when mixing it all together. I also mix in half of the crunchy onions with the green beans.
