Made my own variation of this and if you cook the filling until it just starts to boil on the stove top. It cooks the biscuits. I'd say the most difficult part of the recipe is separating the biscuits.

I made this dish with mixed veggies and chicken gravy and it was delicious! I used a pie dish to cook it in and the presentation looked as if it took lot longer and required way more work than it actually did. I read a tip here that I will use next time...Cook the biscuits first or at least long enough for the bottom to brown then separate and place on top of mixture to cook the rest of the way.

I made a version of this with leftover turkey and a homemade gravy in place of the soups. Everyone LOVED it and there were no leftovers. Not even one crumb! Definitely a keeper.

I made this recipe because I have a ton of left over turkey (we had two for Thanksgiving) which is what I used instead of chicken. The recipe was easy enough and I enhanced it with milk and sour cream... However, the bottom of the dough was still doughy... How does one make sure that does not happen again? And how do you half the dough? (BTW, it was delicious after I removed the uncooked parts)

I have not made this recipe yet; however, after reading it, it seems to me that you could bake the pot pie in the oven instead of the top of the stove. On the stove, you have to make sure that the pot pie filling is boiling, not easy because it could burn. Karen

This was my first Pot Pie waaaay back in the 70's Loved it then and love it now- you can variate this great with other frozen vegetables...I cook my biscuits first and add them the last 5-10 mins or so...that way they aren't gooey...

Very good! Make sure you half the biscuits or they will not cook all the way (my mistake!). A quick meal in less than 30 minutes.
