Cheese, bacon and ketchup create a tasty change for grilled burgers.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (10 oz)
  • 1/2 cup chopped packaged precooked bacon (about 8 slices)
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 teaspoons red pepper sauce, if desired
  • 12 frozen ground beef patties (3 lb)
  • Bread or hamburger buns, if desired

Steps

    Heat gas or charcoal grill. In small bowl, mix all ingredients except patties.

    When grill is heated, place frozen patties on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 4 to 8 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F.
  • 3
    Carefully top each patty with about 1/4 cup cheese mixture; cook covered 4 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Serve on bread.
