My whole family loved this recipe!! Doubled it for a Sunday family dinner. Really easy and very yummy. A whole apple pie is too much for my husband and I (we are mostly empty nesters). One of our favorite desserts and so easy.

WONDERFUL IDEA!!! WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF IT? I USED THIS PIE METHOD FOR A "SHAKER LEMON" PIE TONIGHT. MY HUBBY WAS SURPRISED & GOT ALL TEARY AS IT WAS HIS DAD'S FAVORITE PIE AND WE HADN'T HAD ONCE SINCE HE PASSED 25 YRS. AGO. THE WHOLE PIE W/BE ON OUR THANKSGIVING DESSERT MENU THIS YEAR! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Delicious. Just right for one person, a whole pie is too much. I freeze what I don't eat right away, works great.

Loved loved this recipe! So easy and quick to make! Added a little cinnamon for the Southern flavor!

I have been looking for easier ways to make apple pie and this was so great! I had to add a little extra flour to make the apples thicken up a bit, but other than that it was good. I have made it twice and it has been gone within the hour of me taking out of the oven. The second time I made it, instead of filling half the pie crust, I cut the crust into fours and made single "slices". My daughter loved the single slices better because she could take it for lunch and did not need a fork. My husband was able to take one for breakfast as he was walking out the door.

This recipe was EXCELLENT--and couldn't be easier! I had only one Pillsbury pie dough on hand which I wanted to use--perfect! What more could you ask for? Will use this recipe often.

Can you use canned pie filling instead of fresh fruit?
