Easiest Ever Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

lb beef sirloin steak, 1/2 inch thick

tablespoons butter or margarine

oz fresh mushrooms, sliced (2 1/2 cups)

cups milk
2
tablespoons sherry or chicken broth
1
box Hamburger Helper™ Stroganoff
2
tablespoons sour cream
2
tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, if desired

Directions

  1. 1 Cut beef across grain into strips about 1 1/2x1/4 inch.
  2. 2 In 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms; cook, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms are tender; remove from skillet.
  3. 3 In same skillet, cook beef until brown. Stir in milk, sherry, cooked mushrooms, uncooked pasta and sauce mix (from Hamburger Helper box). Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  4. 4 Remove from heat; stir in sour cream. Let stand 5 minutes (sauce will thicken as it stands). Sprinkle with parsley just before serving.
