"Dirt" Trifle

i love "dirt" thought it would cook 2 make it in2 a trifle!!!! also great 4 a kids birthday party instead of cake!!!!!

Ingredients

box Pillsbury Chocolate Cake Mix
1
box (8 servings) or 2 boxes (4 serving) Jell-O Chocolate Flavor Sugar Free Instant Pudding
4
cups milk
2
tubs (8 oz. each) Cool Whip or Chocolate Cool Whip, or French Vanilla Cool Whip
1
pkg. Oreo Cookies
Gummy worms (optional)

Directions

  • 1 Prepare cake as directed on the box but bake in a grease 9 x 13 pan and completely cool in pan.
  • 2 When cooled, cut into bite sized pieces.
  • 3 Make the pudding as directed on the box. Leave stand 10 min to firm up a little.
  • 4 After 10 minutes dump both containers of Cool Whip into the pudding and whisk in
  • 5 'til no Cool Whip is showing through the pudding.
  • 6 Crush the Oreo Cookies very fine in a food processer or
  • 7 in a zip top bag by hand using a rolling pin.
  • 8 Now you’re ready to put it all together:
  • 9 Put some of the cake bites in the bottom of the trifle dish.
  • 10 Next cover it with some of the pudding mixture. Then top it off with some the crushed Oreo Cookies.
  • 11 Repeat with cake, then pudding mixture,
  • 12 then the crushed Oreo Cookies.
  • 13 Repeat again and again 'til you end up the last layer of the pudding mixture
  • 14 and the top with the last layer of crushed Oreo Cookies.
  • 15 Serve it up now or refrigerate 'til ready to serve.
  • 16 Garnish with the gummy worms {optional} on top of the trifle.

I made it for my Grandsons birthday. Used a new flower pot, and a new trowel to serve also made flowers out of gum drops, and gummy worms. Huge success

My family absolutely loves "Dirt". The kids were excited to see what their kids would think the first time I fixed it for them. One granddaughter was quite resolute that she would NOT like Dirt and we were not going to make her eat it. After the other "kids" started eating it and making all the yummy sounds, the g'kids took courage and began to taste it. The rest is history as they say!

You even try the Oreo Pudding instead of the chocolate pudding or use the chocolate chip pudding. If you don't have a trifle dish you can use a big bowl instead.
