My favorite all time homemade bread recipe. I have made it for at least 30 years. It is a holiday favorite at my house and I have even given it as gifts. It is so easy to make! Making it this year again!

I hadn't made this bread for several years. I'm so glad I remembered this bread, it's more amazing than I remembered! I was short about 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and substituted it with buttermilk. It didn't make any difference. This will be on the menu next time we have company!

I make it using all purpose multi-grain flour from Costco. I used 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 3 tsp dill. My family loves it this way.

I have been making this bread since I was a teenager. I found myself away from my house today and wanted to bake it. Knowing it was an old recipe my mom used to make, I went to the internet on the off chance it would be remembered here.
I am so impressed!!! Thank you for keeping a favorite in your files. This bread is easy and always comes out moist and is a crowd-pleaser. I don't always mention the dill until everyone says they like it...Thanks Pillbury

This is by far the all time best bake off recipe. From the year it won until now, I have never tired of making and eating! this bread.

This is a childhood favorite. Especially good with dill from the garden!

Everyone raves when I take this reicpe to an event, and they always want the recipe.
I make them into small muffins, and bake for about 10-12 minutes....and they begin to fill the air with their aroma.....They all disappear.

The first batch was very good. The second time I used a Kitch-Aid mixer with dough hook. Replaced one tsp of dill seed with dill weed. Also added a good pinch of fresh ground black pepper. Had to use every bit of the flour and it was still pretty stisky but managable. 30 minutes was perfect. loaf is beautiful and delicious. My wife said it is the best bread she ever had. I agree.
