Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup Progresso™ Plain Bread Crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 2 tablespoons hot dog pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 4 (1-oz.) slices Muenster cheese
  • 4 burger buns, split
  • 4 tablespoons purchased dill dip

Steps

  • 1
Heat grill. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except cheese, buns and dill dip; mix well. Shape mixture into four 4-inch patties.
  • 2
When ready to grill, carefully oil grill rack. Place patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 13 to 15 minutes or until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink in center, turning once. Place cheese slice on each patty during last minute of cooking time. If desired, to toast buns, place cut sides down on grill during last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking time.
  • 3
Spread dip on both cut sides of each bun. Place patties in buns.

  • To broil patties, place on broiler pan; broil 4 to 6 inches from heat using times above as a guide, turning once.
  • Lean ground turkey, rather than extra-lean, works best in this recipe. The extra-lean turkey is too dry to make juicy, tasty burgers. Muenster cheese is difficult to slice at home, so purchase sliced Muenster from the deli. Muenster cheese, which originated in the Alsace region of France, has a red or orange edible rind. It’s a mild, semisoft cheese with a smooth yellow interior flecked with small holes.
  • Mix and shape the patties the night before cooking them. Stack the patties between layers of waxed paper, cover tightly and refrigerate them until you are ready to grill.
