Ingredients

  • 2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 burger buns, split
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced

Steps

  • 1
Heat gas or charcoal grill. In large bowl, mix ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, onion powder and pepper until well blended. Shape mixture into 8 patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
  • 2
Place patties on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 13 to 15 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F.
  • 3
Layer buns with lettuce, tomato slices and burger patties. If desired, serve with ketchup, mustard, pickles and onions.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
Make the burger patties up to 4 hours ahead of time and store in the refrigerator layered between pieces of waxed paper.
  • tip 2
In lieu of seasoned salt, season with salt and pepper to taste, adding a dash of garlic powder, chili powder, or paprika if desired.
