Curry powder is a blend of spices invented by the English to approximate the many flavors found in Indian curry blends.
Apples and pears are plentiful this time of year, and they taste wonderful served with cheese. If you slice them ahead of time, place them in a bowl of water with a little lemon juice added to keep them from darkening. Pat them dry when you're ready to serve.
