Good, but a bit rich and does not really stay or reheat well.

Has anyone made the onion jam and bread ahead of time and then reheat the jam for party? I have to travel to a Christmas party and don't want to take a lot of room up in their kitchen cooking.

Very easy to whip up at the last minute on short notice. You can add whatever topping you like, but made just like the recipe and they were a hit. I also made them adding some chopped roasted red pepper; also a hit. The bread wasn't messy and crummy, just yummy!

...and you, Kitzer, sound like someone who is often wrong but never in doubt and who leaps to judgment on nearly any topic, informed or not. YOU have Christmas parties?

Delicious. Big hit with family, everyone loved the jam. Will take suggestion of using beef stock next time.

I have made these now twice. The first time...I followed the recipe exactly. Very Good! The second time...I used Balsamic Vinegar instead of the Red Wine. Also, after browning them, I spead the cream cheese on the bread then added the onion. We like the balsamic vinegar much better. These are so yummy...and when used with a plate...there are no crumbs on my carpet to clean up!

Wonderful flavor and very tasty! I brushed olive oil on the bread to toast instead of using the spray.

To give the onions a contrast of flavors I thinly sliced fennel and sauted them with the onions. My family loved them so Im making them again for NYE dinner

I haven't tried this recipe yet but I'm doing it for NYE, it sounds like a keeper & Kintzer try giving your guests plates it may cut down on the crumbs ...sorry I couldn't pass that up sounds so silly to worry about crumbs

I made the onion jam as an appetizer for family before a holiday dinner. With fresh crusty french bread, that never made it to the oven, and a variety of wonderful cheeses, this was incredibly delicious.I followed the recipe to a tee and i stirred and stirred the jam on a very low heat. It took much longer to jam up but I think that's why the flavor was so intensely good. This one's a keeper.
