I made these for a Halloween party at the office. They were a hit. Agree with previous poster that you want to make the dough narrow so you get more "wraps" around the hot dog. Don't need to use the cheese. A fun Halloween treat for the kids before they go out Trick or Treating.

confusing steps. Wrap the dough strips then place cheese? If cheese is on bottom when baking won't it just melt and burn? How do you keep cheese underneath dough, not melted onto pan and not burnt? What is the secret?

Have made these 2 yrs in a row. Excellent. My tips are: (1)Cut the hot dog in half before wrapping, so you are making a size that easier for little fingers to pick up. (2)Omit the cheese, which is messy. (3) Cut the dough as narrowly as you can. The more narrow the dough strips, the more it looks like actual cloths wrapping the mummy. Cheers!

second year doing this, i forgot last year about my issues with cheese. i still wasnt 100% sure where to put the cheese, and most of it bubbled out onto the pan. it didnt look as cute as the picture. i made a second batch without cheese, and my son actually liked those more. so..next year ill definately try and remember to do it cheeseless

We've made these and they are GREAT. I am preparing for my kids Halloween Birthday party. Do you think I could prep these and then freeze them uncooked? Then, cook them day off? Just trying to make day of prep EASY.
