For the people with nut allergies, try crushing or crumbling pretzels. It will give recipe and your taste buds the salty, crunchy mouth feel that nuts provide. Just an idea. Oh great recipe btw.

all of you nut allergy people should know how to delete an ingredient you are allergic too or how to add something in it's place. Geez!

Made these this afternoon. I omitted the nuts because of allergies. The recipe was fast and simple. I loved it. These taste great, and I got tons of complements on them. I would recommend making these. They looks so fancy!

I have a question. For the cashews, I assume it means regular, salted cashews?

Try using Heath Bar Chips instead of nuts.

I used raisins instead of the cashews. I often use dried fruit instead of nuts in recipes, it's usually a great substitute. These were great!

Jm1Jim1 and Jan.... Looks like your not the only ones who cant do buts. Thanks for asking that question!! Did you try with banana chips? I too am looking for an alternative that will still give substance. If you try your ideas, please post how it turns out.

What can we substitute for the almonds. My doctor has taken me off nuts. I might use shredded coconuts and dried banana chps. And some rice crispies?

I have a nut allergy, so I just ignore the nuts and use coconut, or crushed up graham crackers or chopped up chinese noodles...use your noggin, no whining!

You know Jan, instead of making a big deal out of it you could just LEAVE THE NUTS OUT. Just sayin'.
