These were EXCELLENT! I was lucky enough to get and use Nathans beef franks, what I feel are the BEST hot dog ever! I would make these again, and recommend them again.

I have made ths for years, when my kids were small. I also use breakfast cheese sausage links. Good for breakfast, on a special occasion, or for a brunch with frieends.

My niece(4.5) is quite picky while my son(2.5) will eat ANYTHING. Since my niece has discovered that she likes hot dogs and crescent rolls I thought these would be a great idea for dinner one night. We made them tonight and skewered them to make "homemade corn dogs"! They were a HUGE hit with both kids eating 2 of them. These will be a staple in our house now. I highly recommend the "corn dog" idea for kids that are somewhat picky as it makes them a little fun!

I am almost 50 and my mom used to make these when we were kids. It is an all time favorite. My daughters are now in their 20s and they make them too! Third generation recipe. I never use 4 slices of cheese. Just 2... fold one in half then cut into 4 strips for 4 dogs. Repeat with the other slice. This is my favorite crescent roll recipe. Dogs on the go!

This is a great treat to make with the kids! Nice for the summer, or any time of year... we don't use the cheese on all the dogs so people have an option.

We used to make these "dogs" 40 years ago when we were first out of college! Loved them!

Use thin sliced cheddar instead of American makes it a bit more grown up.

You could also add pre-cooked bacon to these, then roll up crescent before proceeding with the hot dogs and cheese.Yum!
