I used crescent rounds and Hebrew National hot dogs, no cheese. Delicious, of course, but the fat and sodium content is staggering. They are so tasty that I ate two, which was 84% of the daily value limit for saturated fat. Since I had soup with these, I'm sure I exceeded the daily limit for sodium on this meal alone. I don't think I would feed them to children for this reason. Maybe the version with low fat rolls and low fat hot dogs could be a rare treat.

These are so simple and easy to make. My teenage son just loves them.

This is one of the greatest recipes! I have been making this for my kids for years, and now that they are grown, I still make it for myself. I love it!!

We especially like to add our condiments before we roll up and the kids even make initials or other marks on the outside to identify their Cresent Dogs as they come out of the oven.

An even easier way to do this is to cut your cheese slices in half, diagonally, so you have 2 triangles. Then place one triangle of cheese on top of one crescent triangle, place the hot dog on the large end and roll up. It's faster than cutting the cheese into strips, cutting the hot dog, inserting the cheese, etc. I just did this 2 nights ago and was VERY pleased with the final outcome! Give it a try!

This is by far one of my favorite Cheap Eats recipe. The only thing that I do differently is that I omit the cheese, I'm not too fond of cheese.

Added bacon to cocktail sized franks ( split the cheese and rolls in half before wrapping ) . Quick, easy and tastes great with or without condiments.

I used jalapeno and cheddar smoked sausage instead of hot dogs! I used sharp cheddar cheese also. Great with mustard!
