Yum! I have always loved Monte Cristo sandwhichs but they are hard to find at resturants now and way to fatty since they are deep fried. I used the crescent rolls that are not cut up, I forgot to put the butter and honey glaze on the dough before cooking it, but it still turned out yummy. Just have to really watch this in the oven, atleast I found with my gas stove it cooked faster then the time said it would. My husband who looked at me like I was crazy putting a sandwhich in front of him with raspberry jam in it, loved it.

The recipe for, "Crescent Cristo Sandwich Loaf", is an introduction to the "Monte Cristo" a true French Sandwich! It is delicious as a sandwich. There are many variations, yet I am personally very fond of your original recipe - all the way through! It is perfect to make for your family, and for any guests you are expecting! Enjoy!!! :-)

I was a little suspicous of this recipe when I first read it, but it was wonderful! My husband and I loved the great flavor and ease of making this recipe! I even thought the jam was a nice addition to it. I will make this one again!

This is a wonderful recipe. Everyone I've shared the recipe with has been totally enamored with the idea of the Monte Cristo sandwich they had all enjoyed for years at French Restaurants. Once they tried this at a luncheon buffet nothing would do but for them to get the recipe in order that they could entertain with a copy that they had made. Husbands & sons were all quite happy to be entertained with their practice loaves, made by their mothers & sisters. Yummo!

This may not be the original French recipe, but it truly stands up well in it's own right. I would pass this recipe along to my friends/family. If you don't have a huge amount of time to spend on preparing for a 'special' sandwich, this is your best recipe. Check your grocery list. Use a good brand of jam.

I made this for my husband and I because I like these kind of sandwiches. For me it was a little too much dough and not enough jelly even though I did add jelly to each layer as another review said. I may make this again, but put it all in one or 2 layers instead.
