Please change the name of this to Creamy Vegetable Shepherd's Pie. I was going to make it based on the name, but was disappointed when I looked at the ingredient list. I will try to make it maybe with a vegetarian soup. If a recipe is truly vegetarian then it should be named as such.

This recipe is clearly NOT vegetarian.

Vegetarians can make any recipe truly vegetarian. I agree that the name is deceiving, but just make appropriate adjustments. I don't think that there are any cooking sauces that come in a vegetarian version, just like the one in the recipe, but you could always use any vegetarian creamy mushroom soup base instead. Or make your own white sauce.

Any recipe that includes "chicken stock cooking sauce" is NOT vegetarian.

This sounds wonderful but it is not really "vegetarian" because it uses a recipe starter based on chicken stock. This matters to folks that follow a true vegetarian diet.

Yes I totally agree. I'm vegetarian, and to see any recipe with chicken stock raises a red flag. Trust me it'll taste even better using vegetable stock or broth.

I have to admit, I was disappointed as well the recipe says its Vegetarian which got me excited until I read the ingredients. It would be wonderful if someone could reccomend an alternative to the canned product that has chicken stock.
Peace
