If you're looking for an excuse to call fudge "healthy," try this one with dried cranberries and toasty walnuts.

I have never made fudge of any kind before...But, this is LOVELY! It is out of the ordinary enough but tastes excellent. I did alter the recipe. NO walnuts but chopped macadamia nuts and pecans. I also misread the 3oz of cream cheese and added 8oz. BEWARE - a regular package contains 8oz. So I had to triple the recipe. :) I then put more macadamia nuts on the fudge before it set. It is yummy and I will definitely do this again.

Yayyy... found the recipe! Bought the Pillsbury Holiday 1999? cookbook (checkout line) & have made this every year or so for the holidays. Yep, it's seriously sweet.. almost embarrassingly sweet. But isn't that what holiday treats are for? Everyone I've served this to have loved it& asked for the recipe. Hence not having the recipe for myself anymore. After a little digging through notes, other recipe references, finally directing me to a decade or more Pillsbury Holiday cookbook... it's been found & will be made again.

I made this last Christmas, I thought it was very good. Everyone else who tried it loved it too. It''s also very festive looking and a nice change from the usual chocolate fudge.
