Cranberry-Orange Upside-Down Cake

Tangy cranberries take the place of pineapple in this pretty upside-down cake.

This was VERY good. I did add 1/4 cup of brown sugar to the sauce. The cake it's self was sooooo good. I also used a 9 inch pan and placed it on a pie plate. I will also try this cake with maybe an orange glaze. I didn't find this recipe to be tart at all. I am also not sure why everyone left good reviews but it was only rated 3 stars. I was unsure about making it because of that but this is a keeper for sure. Thanks, A&A Deppen

This cake was a hit on Thanksgiving. If you love orange and cranberry combinations, this is for you. The sweetness of the cake offsets the cranberries. I baked in a round 9" pan and served on a round cake plate. Then added a dollop of whip cream in the middle--a better presentaion then a square pan. The best compliment that I had was from my Dad who thought this would of been something my late Grandmother would of made.

I love this recipe. It is super easy and a BEAUTIFUL cake. I made it with a 9" round and put it on a tall glass cake plate. It was a real show piece. Some of my family complained that the topping was 'tart' but hello....it's cranberry!

Just excellent, a very good topping for this cake and/or any other type of a baked cake or cobbler type pie.
