Serve your family with these cranberry-apple turnovers - a superb dessert.

1
package (12 oz) frozen cinnamon apples
1 1/2
cups frozen cranberries
1/2
teaspoon grated lemon peel
1
package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
1
egg, slightly beaten
4
oz white chocolate baking bars or squares, chopped

Steps

  • 1 Heat oven to 400°F. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Cook apples as directed on package. In large bowl, stir apples, cranberries and lemon peel; set aside.
  • 2 On lightly floured work surface, roll 1 puff pastry sheet into 10-inch square. Cut into 4 squares. Repeat with remaining puff pastry sheet. Working with 1 pastry square at a time, lightly brush edges with water. Spoon about 1/4 cup filling on 1 diagonal side of square. Fold into triangle; press edges to seal. Repeat with remaining pastry and filling. Place turnovers on cookie sheet. Lightly brush tops with egg. Bake 20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  • 3 In small microwavable bowl, microwave white chocolate uncovered on High 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds, until softened and chocolate can be stirred smooth. Drizzle over turnovers. Serve warm.
