My mother made this for our family right after the prize was awarded to the winner. She saw the recipe printed in the newspaper. I prepare this recipe often and my children do for their families as well. I like to add mushrooms to mine, but basically I wouldn't change a thing because it is delicious just the way it is. I have added a few short cuts to help things go a little smoother for those of you who would like to try this recipe. I tear 2 pieces of parchment paper the length of a cookie sheet where I prepare the crescent rolls in advance. I unroll the first package of rolls onto

I have been making this recipe for years and all my adult children request it often. It is a family favorite.

Instead of using sasage and red sauce, you can use vegitables and fat free alfredo sauce for a healthier lasagna

My family loves this!! I use the garlic butter crescent rolls and I use a pound of ground beef rather than sausage. It's delicious and so easy!

To Bond7Girl - These recipes are mainly a guideline! You can tweak it however you need to to make it healthier, tastier, easier for you and your family. I wish people would just stick to reviewing the recipe/explaining how they personalized it instead of complaining about things that they CAN change!!! This recipe is wonderful and easy, btw...

I haven't tried it yet, but can't you use the reduced fat cresent rolls, to save a little on calories & fat?

Nanner_Kutie, unless you're buying Amy's 99% lean beef, it's not less fat than ground turkey breast, as it is also 99% lean. If you're buying a package that includes dark, then 93/7 and leaner beef is leaner, but for ground breast, it is the leanest.

This looks yummy, but is so unhealthy, I'm not going to be able to try it. I understand that all of your recipes use your products, and most of them are in no way healthy (For example, all of your refrigerated products are white, I wish you would make low fat 100% whole wheat.), but maybe y'all can reformulate your products to drastically lower the fat and sodium content, raise protein and fiber, and use real ingredients instead of chemicals like artificial colors/flavors and high fructose corn syrup.

Love this recipe! My husband and 12 month old love it too! Easy to make and seems to get easier each time. I made it with the tomato paste it calls for the first few times. It was a little had to mix up, but it still works well, and the filling stays in well when you cut it. The last time I made it, I found I only had tomato sauce on hand. I was hesitant to use it because I was afraid it would be too runny. It was definitely easier to mix the meat filling, and in the end, I didn't notice a difference. So I think either works okay. This is a staple in our family now!

This recipe has been my families favorite for many years. I started making it when my children were young and we were in the Army. My children are now parents and still making it for their families. We have had to adjust some of the ingredients if we were living where we could not purchase some ingredient, but we have always come back to the original recipe.
