How to Make Country French Apple Crescent Casserole

These are the basic steps to make a Country French Apple Crescent Casserole. When you’re ready to start making this Pillsbury Bake-Off® finalist recipe, see full instructions below.

1. Make the Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

2. Prepare the Dough

Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles and sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly over each. Gently press sugar mixture into each triangle, flattening each piece slightly.

3. Create the Apple Rolls

Place an apple slice on the shortest side of each triangle, and tuck the edges of the dough around the apple slice. Roll up, starting at the shortest side and rolling to the opposite point. Seal all seams. Then, place rolls point side down in an ungreased 9-inch round baking dish or pie plate, placing the long side of 7 filled crescents around the outside edge of the dish and 1 in the center.

4. First Bake

Bake the rolls at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove the baking dish from the oven.

5. Add the Sauce

In a small bowl, beat all the sauce ingredients with a wire whisk until well blended. Spoon sauce evenly over partially baked rolls. Sprinkle them with almonds and cinnamon.

6. Second Bake

Return to the oven and bake for an additional 13 to 18 minutes or until deep golden brown. Serve warm.
