The easiest way I have found to prevent this type of roll from crushing when cut is to use dental floss or string. Start from the bottom, cross the two sides of string and bring them together. Makes a perfect cut every time with no crushing. I do the same with sweet rolls.

These were a hit at the party and go great with the party-staple crescent roll mini hot dogs. People comment on how pretty they look.
Making them was a little tough. Make sure that your knife is sharp enough to cut the dough without it smooshing down and ruining the spiral shape. Also, make sure the peppers are chopped finely enough. I'm going to try these next time with black beans, corn, and chopped tomato and some chihuahua cheese and put some home made guac on the side to dip.

Everything seemed really easy until I had to cut the slices. What I found helpful was to put the rolled cresent rolls (uncut) into the freezer for about 15-20 mins. Once I took them out, they were a bit more solid and sturdy which made them so much easier to cut into the slices! Hope this helps!
