Clam Sauce with Linguine

Ingredients

oz. uncooked linguine

tablespoons olive or vegetable oil

cup finely chopped onion

garlic clove, minced

tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2
teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/2
teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/8
teaspoon pepper
1/4
cup dry white wine
1
(6 1/2-oz.) can minced clams, drained, reserving liquid
2
tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, if desired

Directions

  1. 1 Cook linguine to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; cover to keep warm.
  2. 2 Meanwhile, heat oil in medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; cook 1 to 2 minutes or until onion is tender, stirring constantly. Stir in parsley, oregano, basil, pepper, wine and reserved clam liquid. Cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. 3 Add clams; cook until thoroughly heated. Serve sauce over cooked linguine. Sprinkle each serving with Parmesan cheese.
