My family's take on reindeer cookies for the holidays has always depended on a bottom line peanut butter flavored & shaped commercial store bought cookie. This recipe is very different from mine, yet I am very impressed with this spritz cookie. The cookie flavors sound quite good. I like using the heart shaped tip to create the basic cookie. The way it attaches to the pretzel to bake the 'antlers' into the cookie, and also bakes the features into the face really impresses me. It deletes using 'candy melt glue' which may or may not hold. This recipe makes a super tasty cookie surprise! Yum!

For many years my son and I enjoyed making "Rudolf" cookies. We bought Hershey's miniature sugar coated chocolate baking pieces. We sorted through & set aside all the red ones for the noses. We saved all the other colors in pairs for the eyes. This gave a cookie with either yellow, green, blue, or brown eyes & that famous red nose. We used Nutter Butter peanut shaped commercial cookies. We melted butterscotch or peanut butter flavored Candy Melts to use as 'glue' to hold on the candy features-and the two small pretzel antlers. These were fun to make & give as gifts. Yummy Treats!
