i made this pie on thanksgiving and it turned out wonderful....if you had issues with the filling turning to mush or not setting up properly u didnt let it sit long enough or u used to much milk.. i used a extra heavy whipping cream to make mine and it was a delight i am going to use milk chocolte the next time tho for more sweetness

I too was excited to make this pie, but was disappointed that the chocolate did not set up. The topping also had odd bubbles here and there. It's curious that the recipe worked well for some and not so well for others.

I was excited to make this as the photo was beautiful but it was a disappointment in that the chocolate filling was mush.

This looks and sounds wonderful and but I am not sure what went wrong but my chocolate filling did not thicken up and turn out lovely like the picture at all. I ended up with pie crust soup. Even as I was mixing those 3 ingredients, I found it kind of hard to believe that it would become pudding-like as in the picture. I felt like a thickening agent ingredient was missing perhaps? Will seek out another chocolate pie recipe instead.

I made this for my chocoholic husband. He spent a whole week eating every last bite. His best compliment was that the chocolate topping was really good just like his mothers homemade chocolate pudding pies. Its a keeper.

Good idea but the chocolate is overwhelming (and I'm a chocolate fan). For us Texans, there's not enough pecan pie under all the chocolate. Will definitely try again, but next time I'll double the pecan recipe and cut the chocolate in half.
