Made this recipe this weekend. Came out perfectly. Not sure issues in previous posts about being soupy. This set just as it should have. No thickening agents are needed. I was worried as I only had skim milk. So I used half 1/2 & 1/2 Half skim milk. You get the milk hot which melts the chips, which will set to proper consistency. Perfect!

No thickening agent required. You are melting chocolate chips that will cool to a hard chocolate if the milk wasnt put in it. I follow the recipe exactly as it is written and have no problem. Melt the chocolate to where it just melts. Dont cook it. Maybe that will help. And it needs to set up in the fridge for a while (overnight works best). This pie is really awesome!

I have been making this pie for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas for family get togethers for the last 10 years and family still says to bring it back. Its really not that hard. I use my blender to mix the chocolate mix and it works great.

I like the idea but I'll be using a different chocolate filling (one that I know sets properly) Maybe I'll cheat and just use cook & serve pudding.

I also found that my chocolate filling did not set. I'm not happy with the turn out. Add a pudding mix which I'm gonna try. Keep your fingers cross.

Couldn't get lower than one star or I would have done so.
This should be named Chocolate Soup Pecan Pie. I made it and am an expert baker.
I saw there was no thickening agent in the chocolate portion but thought Pillsbury would never post a recipe so defective. I was very wrong. Will not make this again anytime soon. I don't like the use of corn syrup in my products and will always use a healthier substitute..Take a good look at the picture with the sharp side cuts. No way could that have been done with this recipe.
Won't try another Pillsbury recipe. Not worth it.

Sounds like they forgot a thickening agent; pudding or corn starch etc. Hmm will have to find out ;)

Apparently, an ingredient was left out of the recipe for the chocolate filling. The chocolate never "set-up" and was a total waste of my time and the money for ingredients. Do not attempt this recipe - you will fail miserably as I did.

I have not made the pie, but even before reading the reviews, I could see that the recipe for the chocolate filling is not complete. There is no "thickening" agent in the filling, usually egg yolks, flour, or cornstarch, which enables the filling to set up when cooked on the stove top. Something is definitely missing!
