Easy & delicious. The twisting of the dough & sprinkling of powdered sugar makes for such a pretty presentation! This recipe combines the flavors of two of my favorite sweet treats, a hazelnut studded chocolate bar & a powdered sugar laced New Orleans beignet.

Used almonds because I didn't have hazelnuts and the taste was still great.
Best advice: check at around the 15 minute mark and then keep a close eye on them. 20 minutes was just a bit too long, although that could be the way my oven works.
Not the easiest dessert to make, but it IS worth the time and effort.

These cooked much more quickly than the indicated 20 minutes - they were overdone at 10 min. 7-8 minutes would probably have worked fine. I served these at a church dinner and even though they were a bit overdone they were finished off by the end of the meal.
