My mother always made this saturday mornings... I now make it for my kids... they love it! We never put the vanilla in it, and we put butter on the biscuits instead of the gravy.. hmm... Its excellent to dip bacon in or sausage!!! My uncles even put it on eggs... i love it but not that much LOL

I grew up on chocolate gravy as did my kids. My daughter told her husband about it & when they came to visit asked me to make it. He loved it. I've even made it for a neighbors daughter. I love chocolate gravy & biscuits. So glad to see this receipe.

I grew up with Chocolate Gray and Bisquits. I love it. I raised my children with this and now my granddaughter. What a wonderful thing to see again. Never knew so many people had it. I did mention to my friends, they wrinkled their nose because they never heard of it. Too bad for them.

My Great aunt who lives in Michigan now used to make this every time we went to visit her there. I used to ask for it. She was originally from Arkansas and we have known about this all our lives. It is absolutely wonderful. Although no one in my family(husband and girls)will eat it if I make it. What is not to like?? It tastes almost like chocolate pudding on a biscuit..

I LOVE chocolate gravy and biscuits! I just made some for my entire extended family on Christmas morning. BaberboyB....you must not be from the "right" part of the south if you have never heard of this recipe...I offer my condolences! Nothing else needs to be added to it, it is fabulous on its own. I usually make tomato gravy to go along beside it for the savory portion of the meal.

I thought chocolate gravy and biscuits for breakfast was something every southern girl or boy had experienced at one time or another. Brings back memories of crisp cold mornings at my Grandmothers house. Crawling out of a feather bed and being blessed with her homemade biscuits and chocolate gravy. Always the consistancy of regular gravy with a big dollap of butter melting on top. Mmmmm It don't get better than that. I am making the same memory with my grandbaby. She lives off but she will be having it every Christmas Eve morning at Nan's house :)

My Mom made this when I was younger. It was thicker, like a thick gravy. Coming from a big, southern family she made lots of biscuits at mealtime. We had it on homemade biscuits for supper. Brings back a lot of memories.
