I made this for Thanksgiving and it was extremely delicious! I have never made a loaf of bread before and I found this easy to make and delicious to eat!

I made my two loaves last night. For one of my loaves i didn't add any chocoloate chips. It was still great. Any ideas as to how to bring out the spiciness a bit more? I also added walnuts instead of pecans and they tasted great. Definitely add them in the mix, then put some on top too! Its nice to make a treat that represents the seasons!

Scrumptious! I didn't have enough butter, so I used 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup Crisco & it was not dry at all. I had bittersweet & semi-sweet chocolate chips so I used 1/2 cup each & I would definitely recommend that. I simply had to use more than the 2 T of chopped nuts (I used at least 1/4 cup of walnuts per loaf) and I sprinkled the tops of the loafs with extra cinnamon before sprinkling with the sugar, nuts and extra chocolate chips. I didn't add the nutmeg just because I don't like it but did add an extra 1/2 t. cinnamon to the batter. Don't over bake. Enjoy! These will be X-mas gifts!

Yum. I think I baked it a bit too long (1 hr., 10 min.), and I should have checked it sooner. The outside is a bit dry. But I kept one loaf and sent the other to a friend's house. They loved it, too.
